Hi, I'm Meg.
I've been painting since I could hold a brush, and I'm happiest when I'm making something with my hands.
These days I'm constantly bouncing between mediums — watercolor, pencil, lino printing, digital illustration, and whatever new thing I've decided I need to try next.
By day, I work in web content strategy and design. On weekends, you'll often find me helping couples as a wedding coordinator with Evviva Studio or drawing live for events with Alliepaintslove.
Meg Kloss Design Studio is where all of those things overlap: art, events, design, and making something personal for people to take home.
A lot of my work starts with memories, jokes, favorite places, pets, weird little traditions, or the things that make someone's relationship unique. Personalized art has always been one of the ways I show people I love them — there are stacks of handmade cards and framed pieces scattered throughout my family's houses to prove it.
Why a vending machine?
I wanted to make art that wasn't just something you looked at.
The vending machine turns the artwork into an experience. There's something wonderfully old-school about putting a quarter in, turning a knob, and not knowing exactly what you're going to get.
It's a tiny surprise. It's interactive. And at a wedding or celebration, it gives guests something to do, something to talk about, and something to remember.
The dream
The dream we're manifesting: get selected for a National Parks Artist Residency Program someday.
